JIGSAW

Today's we started off class with an interactive vortex game that required us to collaborate with our class members to successfully identify characteristics of lessons plans and unit plans. This activity was a fun way to activate our knowledge!

Additionally, we learned the acronym PIGS FACE: Positive interdependence, Individual accountability, Group processing,
Social skills and FACE- to- face promotive interactions by doing a JIGSAW activity. We did this by working in groups. We each had to select a piece of the acronym and then we left our groups to go and work with classmates that selected the same topic. The new groups that we formed were called, expert groups because we all had the same topic. Our goal was to work with the each other and research our topic. Then we had to go back to our original groups and relay the information that we collected in our expert groups.

At the end of class, there was a micro teaching lesson on Peer mediation which was presented by Meagan and Angela. The girls did a great job of explaining peer mediation and why it is important. They even wrote out SCRIPTS that we had to follow so we would REALLY understand
